30 Oct 2018

DOHA - The Patent Office in Qatar has finally issued the implementing regulations of the Patent Law dated May 1, 2018. The implementing regulations have not yet been officially formalized, but they are now implemented on the patents during the examination of the same.

The implementing regulations have not changed any regular procedures or article in the law, but they have been issued to regularize and formalize the patent procedures, such as specifying grace period of six months for late filing of document and late payment of annuity fees, and granting a grace period of three months to submit the priority documents if the patent filed based on Paris convention.
